If you wish for a more spiritual connection to your visit, this promises a Moroccan tour experience like no other.
Starting in the busy heart of Marrakech, you’ll be transported high above this beautiful country through a pass in the Atlas mountains and down to Ait Beb Haddou, before moving further south until you reach the dunes of the Sahara on camel back, before returning via stunning gorges and traditional Berber villages.
Departure/Arrival Location: Marrakech
Tour Duration: 5 Days/ 4 Nights
Transport: Luxury 4×4 Toyota Landcruiser, Camel Ride
Max Travelers: 4 per vehicle.
Food & Accommodation: Both provided to suit budget, includes nomadic bivouac stay in desert.
An early morning start sees you climb into the safety and comfort of our Toyota Landcruisers and depsart Marrakaech to reach the pass of Tizi-n-Tichka high in the Atlas Mountains, before descending to Ait Ben Haddou via the Kasbah of Telouet and the Oumila Valley.
Finally you’ll reach Ouarzazate, the Gateway to the Sahara where you can get a good night’s rest knowing the desert awaits you in the morning.
Arising in Ouarzazate and enjoying a good breakfast, we’ll then depart for the Todgha Gorges to take in the amazing scenery. On the way we’ll pass by the Oasis of Skoura and its Kasbahs before travelling through the Valley of Roses and Dades Gorges.
Overnight stay near Todgha Gorges as well as food and drinks.
As we’re waking up in the Todgha Gorge area, it would be a shame not to take a walk in the Tinghir palm grove, prior to driving to the Merzouga dunes via both Erfoud or Rissani, where lunch can be had at either locations depending on how hungry you are.
Once in Merzouga we’ll swap the 4×4 for camels and shuffle off over the Erg Chebbi dunes for a sunset that you’ll remember for a lifetime. This is where you will also have dinner and stay in a nomadic style tent overnight.
Enjoy breakfast in the desert before travelling back to Merzouga by camel and swapping back into the 4×4. From there we’ll travel along the Draa valley to stop at Tazzarine and N’qob where we can break for lunch, before continuing on to Tanasikht and the Kasbah of Tamnougalte.
The names of Ouarzazate and Marrakech may by this point conjour memories from just a few days ago, but there is even more to see on the return leg of the journey, including the Kasbah of Taourirt, Fint Oasis and the pass of Tizi-n-Tinfifte before descending to Marrakech.
