The 5-Day Marrakech Desert Safari is one of the longest tours we have organized, as it rewards inquisitive travelers who like to spend more time in each city to better explore it and discover its grandeur. The trip covers a wide range of areas and monuments such as the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, the palm grove of Skoura, the Valley of the Roses, the gorges of Dades, Merzouga, Rissani ……, etc. You will have the opportunity to meet nomads who live in caves near Todra Gorges, ride camels in the Sahara Desert, stay overnight in nomadic tent camps and do many other activities. Our tours can be changed according to your wishes and interests.
Day 1 Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skours
This 5-day Sahara Desert tour from Marrakech begins with pick up from your hotel/hostel in Marrakech. We will then visit Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou through the Tizi N’tichka Pass in the Atlas Mountains (2,260 meters above sea level) and stop for lunch at a local restaurant. After entertainment we will continue to Ouarzazate to admire the breathtaking views of the Taurirt Kasbah. Then we will head to Karamguna to enjoy dinner and spend the first night in the hotel.
Day 2 Skoura – Rose Valley – Dades Gorge – Tingil – Todra Gorge
In Calamguna, after breakfast at the hotel, we will take the road to the Valley of the Roses and then drive through the village for a possible visit to a friendly nomadic family living in a cave to experience their simple way of life. We will then visit Dades Gorge and see the spectacular rock formations that attract so many visitors. After that we will go to Boulman du Dades, a small Sigirian village, where we will have lunch. In the afternoon we will travel to Todra Gorge to admire the fantastic views of the gorge, have dinner and spend the night at the Kasbah Hotel.
Day 3 Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi (Merzouga)
On a refreshing morning we will have breakfast and go for a walk in the palm gardens with fantastic views of the Todra River. After that we will go to Tinjedad to have lunch at a local restaurant. Then we will go to Erfoud to visit a local fossil craft workshop, after which we will continue to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi or Merzouga dunes, where you will have the opportunity to ride a camel for an hour and a half, enjoy a delicious dinner by the fire and spend an unforgettable night in a traditional nomadic tent among the breathtaking dunes.
Day 4 Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – N’kob – Agdz – Ouarzazate
In the middle of the Sahara Desert, you will wake up early to admire the sunrise from the top of the dunes and have breakfast in the bivouac. After a shower, you will return to your hotel by camel. Then you will go to Risani to explore its bazaars, continue to Alnif, home to trilobites, stop for lunch in N’kob, head to Agdez and stop to visit the kasbah of Tamnaugalt, located among the palm groves in the Daraa Valley. You will then cross the Ait-Sann Mountains and reach Ouarzazate, where you will have dinner and spend the night in your hotel.
Day 5 Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
On the last day after breakfast you will have free time to visit the Kasbah of Taurirt and explore the film studios of the Atlas. Then we will go to Ait Benhadda, where we will have lunch in a local restaurant. After that we will visit the kasbah of Telouet and then head to the Red City of Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains. Transfer to our accommodation.
